Topic: phpbb v2.0.3 Database Backup

I have installed phpbb into an ibay - configured to support cgi/php scripts etc.

Everything works fine in terms of posting and managing the forum, except I am unable to do a database backup.  When I try to do a db backup, it just asks for me to keep logging into the forum.  Problem occurs whether or not Gzip compression is enabled.  No error messages are shown in the browser.

I have tried opening the permission up on the ibay to everyone full control (just to test), but no luck.

I have searched the phpbb support forums and no-one has reported this problem.  Also I followed Dan Brown's instructions, but omitted creating the segment for http.conf (since the ibay config does this?) but followed the other instructions that seemed relevant.

Any ideas?

When you want to do a backup, you must call the phpbb application with the full qualified domain - www.yourdomain.com/phpBB (or what ever you call your ibay)/.
It isn't a e-smith thing, appearently something in phpBB

A database backup is done for you every time you back up the server.

Jan,

You're right that I was using just the short host name on my local network, but still get the same problem using the fqdn?  I'll try it coming in from the internet and see if that is any different.

I tried with the fqdn from my Lan and it worked just fine. The Backup and the Restore.
