Hi everyone,
I recently installed the Phorum rpm from Darrell May and ofcourse it works great
However...almost great should be better. What's the problem?
Well...I have to questions:
1. The first one is about the DocumentRoot path for Phorum. Phorum is installed in /opt/groupware/phorum and is accessible at
http://mydomain.com/phorum. Everything ok so far, but I want to link the /opt directory to a subdomain. I want to be able to connect to the forum software by for example
http://phorum.minddigger.com. Thereby it would be nice if the original reference to /phorum was deleted, but that's not very important.
I just edited httpd.conf by hand (I know that's naughty
) and replaced the original DocumentRoot line for the subdomain phorum.minddigger.com to the path where the Phorum software is installed, /opt/groupware/phorum. Of course this works, but not for long!
I now wanted to ask how to write a template fragment which overwrites/replaces the standard DocumentRoot line(s). I know how to write template fragments for httpd.conf but these only add some information instead of replacing it.
2. My second question is related to the Phorum software functionality itself in combination with SME 5.1.2.
As I said before the forum works great, but I can't get the upload functionality working?! I added a directory "attachments" to the phorum dir and chmodded it 777. I also configured Phorum to enable the attachment functionality and it shows that you should be able to attach something (the accompanying buttons are shown). However, when I try to upload a picture and press the upload button, it always comes up with the following error:
Can't save upload file
I really don't know how this is possible because of the 777 chmodded attachments directory (and reference to it in the Phorum config). I tried another dir of which I was sure it was world wide accessible, but this also did not function.
FYI, I already disabled sandboxing (if that should possibly be the reason of disfunctioning).
Has anyone any idea how to correctly enable/setup the attachment functionality of Phorum?
TIA,
Timothée
