Development sys for 5.6, how?
« on: January 22, 2003, 02:43:01 PM »
I need to compile a couple of new driver modules that will work with the current version of 5.6 (free version). I had seperately built a Redhat 7.3 box (I understand this is the basis for the current version), but I get strange results which I put down to incompatibilities with the kernel versions.

E-smith 5.6 comes with kernel 2.4.18-5 and RH 7.3 comes with  2.4.18-3. The only Redhat update I could see was to 2.4.18-18.7.

Question is, is there an ISO or a download site for such a thing as a E-smith development system?

Bear with me, I am not a developer, but willing to give most things a try.

Cheers.

if you search on here you'll find plenty references to sites that contain instructions and compiler modules for SME server. NB When doing a search it is often useful to change the period to longer than the last 30 days.

In the meantime try this site out.

Myezserver only has source for 2.4.18-3; if required source for 2.4.18-5 can be found at:

Thanks for both of those!

I did try a few searches, but I was getting more hits than I intended and they mostly seemed the wrong ones.
