Looks interesting, but there are many more Forums out there that have pretty much the same functionality without the restrictive licensing. I've had good success with phpBB (
http://www.phpbb.com/), it has a very similar feature set, and there is a how-to kicking around for installing it on SME.
To answer your original question...it looks like it will install fine on SME, but I haven't done it.
