5.6Unsupported Installation Error
« on: March 08, 2003, 03:55:59 PM »
Finally, after a week trying to download the .iso file, I've managed to use rsync to get the .iso file. I've checked the md5sum and they matched, but then, after I burned it on CD (tried it with Nero on XP), and used this CD to install this version, I'm getting an error after I accepted the Licence Agreement:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exception Occurred

An unhandled exception has occurred. The most
common cause of this problem is a corrupted
installation CD. Please copy the full text of
this exception or save the crash dump to a
floppy. You should then check the checksum of
the installation CD. If the checksum is correct
you should then contact your support channel for
further instructions.

Traceback (innermost last):
  File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 634, in ?
    intf.run(id, dispatch, configFileData)
  File "/usr/lib/anaconda/text.py", line 412, in
run
    rc = apply(win, (self.screen, ) + args)
  File "/usr/lib/anaconda/textw/mitel_text.py",
line 519, in __call__
    [ _("Back") ], width = 65)
TypeError: too many arguments; expected 3, got 4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone help me with this problem. I tried it 4 times, with different .iso files, but still getting this error message. After I hit OK, the computer shuts down. All the versions before had none of this problem, except for this version.

There are many reports of this error in this forum; a search would yield most of the info required!!  Please use the search function to save the forum getting cluttered with questions that have already been asked and answered.

I have also found that burning the CD (on XP from the d/l'd ISO) is a problem if I burn at 52x.  If you burn at NO MORE than 24x you should be fine (just did precisely this yesterday).
