Full Public Access to an Ibay?
« on: March 13, 2003, 12:45:47 PM »
Hello,

I need to create an ibay on SME 5.1.2 that all users on the network can access, but I don't want to create an account for each user on the SME box, on my redhat box i did this;

In smb.conf
^^^^^^^^^^^^^

guest ok = yes
guest account = public

In the ibay definition in smb.conf
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

guest ok = yes
public = yes

So How do I create a template for a specific ibay? As I have other ibays on the system, which I want protected.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Does this allow access even if the user doesn't have a user account on the system?

I believe so
Just create a test ibay and try it and see !
Not logging on as a user may restrict access to other services though,
?? printers ??
There were some other posts about guest users, do a search
