my easydns.conf file contains the lines

service-type=easydns
user=dnsaccount:dnspassword
host=netwidex.com
interface=ppp0

The account no longer updates, and I wondered if the file should
actually show the real user name and password rather than the
generic dnsaccount:dnspassword

the updates stopped working when I temporarily used a different domain and now it won't restore easydns!

the server config utility was rerun to confirm the correct name & password are on the system and I tried to rerun the rpm!

Mike,

I had exactly the same problem. I discovered that the configuration file (/home/e-smith/configuration) had the easydns information entered into the "dyndns" entry, but the "dnsaccount" and "dnspassword" entries were not being set correctly - those are the variables that the easydns script uses. Try setting those entries to the correct values manually - it worked for me. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can explain why those entries are not being set correctly in the first place.
