Outlook Express error affects webmail

Hello,

I have a problem that has recurred maybe 10-12 times on different Win95 workstations running behind SME 5.5 and later under 5.6, all the way up to Update 3.

I should say at the outset that the problem is almost certainly not an SME problem -- it's something happening on the workstations -- but I'm hoping someone may have seen this before.

Workstations are running Win95B, IE5.5 and Outlook Express 5. First the user gets an error on launching Outlook Express:

MSIMN Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module DIRECTDB.DLL

MS offers two solutions, neither of which work.

Next, and this is the interesting part, when I tell the user to use the IMP webmail interface, they can log in and see the list of messages in the inbox without a problem, but as soon as they try to read a message, all the the message text is completely unintelligible -- just a mass of squiggly lines as far as I can tell.

The same user can access his e-mail from a different workstation and everything is fine.

Anybody have a clue?

Thanks.

Robert

basically, this is workstation windows OS issue, nothing related to the sme server, consult Mircosoft tech support for advise, otherwise, the most easy way is to reinstall the workstation...

Thank you.
