SME as caching server - any tweaks?
« on: May 09, 2003, 07:02:42 PM »
Already use 5.6 as a domain controller and need to reduce the load on my leased line connection which I am now sharing with a few local businesses (a wireless enterprise).
Thinking of using another SME box purely as a web caching server - are there any tweaks to make Squid perform better in this role? Or would anyone recommend another Linux distro better suited to the job?

Thanks for any feedback.

A lower overhead distribution might be Ipcop (latest version is EXT3 and 2.4 kernel)
