Backup problems using Arkeia & flexbackup
« on: May 15, 2003, 11:22:24 PM »
I've been using flexbackup successfully for about a year now on SME 5.1.2.  Recently, I started getting cryptic errors and incomplete backups.  I am using a Seagate STT20000A (10/20 BG) and backup up about 15-18 GB  nightly.

I've tried using C. Brady's advanced backup and Shad Lord's Arkeia for SME server, but thus far no joy.  The latest lag from Arkeia follows:

2003/05/15 01:01:28 Start of backup: Savepack "Save Pack", Drivepack "Drive Pack", Pool "Tape Pool"
2003/05/15 01:01:28 Owner is "admin"
2003/05/15 01:01:28 Adding savepack "Save Pack"
2003/05/15 01:01:28 Loading tape 'Daily #1' in drive 'Tape Drive'
2003/05/15 01:03:42 Drive 'Tape Drive': rewinding tape
2003/05/15 01:03:52 Tape 'Daily #1': label written in drive "Tape Drive"
2003/05/15 01:03:52 Drive 'Tape Drive': wrote label "Daily #1"
2003/05/15 01:04:57 [1] Backup of "" not OK, "0" files, "1" MB, "1" seconds, "60" MB/mn, "0" errors, error code = "5"
2003/05/15 01:04:57 "0" files, "0" MB, compressed at "1.0", "207" seconds, "0" MB/mn
2003/05/15 01:04:57 End of backup

Any hints on "error code = 5"?

TIA
NeilL

2003/05/15 01:04:57 [1] Backup of "" not OK

This says it all.  The savepack has been modified or was not created correctly.

Make sure the savepack has "{machinename}:/" in it.

Thanks,  and I appologize if this was glaringly obvious.

How is "savepack" created/edited?  Where is it located?

Did I miss a "howto" somewhere on using Arkeia with e-smith? (because I looked!)
