Hi All,
SME 5.6's installer appears to have a problem recognising driver disks for disk / RAID controllers during install time.
When you enter "accept dd" to specify that you wish to supply a driver disk during installation, the installer prompts you for a driver disk as expected. After inserting the driver disk, you can see SME load the required driver from the disk, then it spins up the CD and reads it a while before coming back to you asking :-
Please insert the 1 driver disk now
and you won't be able to go past this as it reports that it cannot find that disk. Others have also come across this as well (from the thread regarding getting Highpoint drivers to work with SME 5.6). I encountered this on Highpoint as well as other RAID controller driver disks (which I have confirmed contained the right kernel version support for SME 5.6).
I have tested the same driver disk on a standard RH 7.3 and RH 8.0 installation CDs and it works flawlessly.
I reported this to SME bugs, and got told that Mitel does not support the use of the driver disks during installation. Gordon then suggested I ask in this forum for anyone who might be able to help, so here I am

.
I'm hazarding a guess that the customisations done to anaconda by Mitel have somehow stopped the driver disk function from working correctly. I've used this feature with SME 5.1.2 before without problems, but it seems to be broken in 5.6.
Any help would be much appreciated.
