SME6 - SSH Shell
« on: June 18, 2003, 01:41:59 AM »
Trying SME 6 and SSH Logon.
I created a non administrative User that should get a SSH - Non Administrative Shell - only for SSH Tunneling.

In "Remote Access" the Option "Allow secure shell access using standard passwords" is YES.

Im my SSH Terminal I receive following Error:

------------------------
Mitel Networks SME Server
-------------------------
Standard user login services have been disabled.
Terminating connection.

What does it happen?

This is the default for all users.  Normally, regular users do not connect through ssh.  They just connect through mail or samba shares.

If you need to enable ssh access for some users, modify the /etc/passwd to use the bash shell for that user.

There shouls probably a custom-template change required to make this e-smith permanent but you can try this easily.

The usermanager rpm from dungog.net will provide the functions that you want - you also get to test it under SME6 :-)

have you, just maybe, tried searching the forums?  This has been covered many, many times in the past.  Try "chsh" for the search.
