Topic: Sending Large File Attachments

I have a query as to how SME Server 5.6 deals with the sending of large file attachments that have the send process interupted by a loss of dialup connection.
Basically the situation is that we have a work hours 56k dialup connection and I was wondering if we sent an email with an attachment of say 10mb just 15 minutes before the connection was to go down for the day would it have to resend the whole 10mb in the morning or would it continue on from where it got up to?
The reason I am asking this is to give some guidence to our users as to the best time to send large email attachments.

It would resend the whole thing.
10mb through e-mail on dialup in a work enviroment! - you'd be better teaching your sys-admin how to write a "change request"   ;~)

The link will stay up until it is inactive.

However, as Boris says, if the link does go down and the transmit is incomplete, it will start afresh. This is one of thes reasons why it is unwise to  send 10MB files via email.

Thankyou blinky and Charlie for your replies, you have basically answered what I need to know.  Fortunately we don't often have 10MB emails go out but when they have to go out I need to know what time is best to send them.  Regarding the dialup connection our options are limited for Broadband and as we intend moving soon there was no point in putting money into options that will not be used after the move. (We are a charitable organisation so money is not avaiable in the bucketloads)  We are coping quite well with the dialup connection except on the odd occasion that someone needs to do a large download or send a large email.
