File Permissions Problems?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I am not sure when this started happening (perhaps as far back as when I moved to 5.6U4 from 5.1.2) but here is what is happening.

When a user on a W2K workstation that I have set as part of the group STAFF on the SME box create dirs or files, they are not setting any persmissions for the group STAFF, just that user!? However if they do this at the beginning of the share/ibay (ie. not within an existing directory) the permissions for STAFF are set.

Thanks!

I created another IBAY. This one works as expected. If I create dirs and files, STAFF group is granted permissions to all.

On the original IBAY, if I created dirs and files within the original directory created way back, STAFF group is not granted permissions to anything :(

Something is screwy, any helo with this would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Please report any system malfunctions (in detail) to smebugs@mitel.com.

LOL thanks Charlie. I don't think think that this is necessarily an SME5.6U4 bug rather an administrator's (my) screw up somewhere.

I must have somehow altered something with permissions. I tried to do a recursive chgrp to STAFF to no avail. Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!
