I just installed raid monitor since I suspected a raid failure, and I'm concerned the system may fail too

I've dumped data to my desktop, and ghosted sda but the ghost image didn't boot on a new drive, so I'm building a backup with new drives, but not sure how to get the configuration to load!
All suggestions welcome
Ideally, I'd like to add a third drive to the existing system, is that feasible? ( Adaptec 2940 scsi system )
