Netmeeting 3.1 (windo$e client) and SME 5.6 ???
« on: July 19, 2003, 12:26:09 AM »
I have sme 5.6 running. I have some problems :

Do you know how to get Netmeeting 3.1 (Windows Client) running with video
conferencing ?

I got this information from google search engine about netmeeting:

Ports used by NetMeeting :
PORT: Service:  Purpose / usage :
389 Internet Locator Server when using a NetMeeting Directory server
522 User Location Server
1503 T.120
1720 H.323 Call setup, negotiate other ports to be used, Audio data
1731   Audio Data
Dynamic H.323  call control (TCP)
Dynamic H.323 streaming [Realtime Transport Protocol (RTP) over
User Datagram Protocol (UDP)]

This is what m$crosoft said:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:
80/support/kb/articles/q158/6/23.asp&NoWebContent=1

I know that will have to forward some ports with the sme portforwarding
program to specific internal client machine (192.168.25.8 for example), but
how can this be done including video streaming (I think this is the h.323
thing).

Can you help me please ???

Greetings
Stephan

There are more references to this issue in these foraa than you can shake a stick at. Search, (for more than 30 days) *then* post.

And not one of them answers the question of how to get e-smith to run the H323 protocol and which ports to open.
