I have had problems with starting ASSP on bootup by simply putting it in rc.local as suggested by Gene Cooper's How to on ASSP. The problem being that a hang occurs on shutdown even if I shutdown the ASSP service first. If I start it manually instead of putting it in rc.local then everything is ok. Is there another way of starting a service on bootup that I could try?
