Have any of you tried SME 6.0b2 VPN’s

I am trying to get VPN’s to work for SME6.0b2 with only a bit of lick. I would like to know if any of you have bin able to get them working and what you did. If you had problems could you post them?

The problem I am heaving is I am connecting to my vpn server with XP. The computer loges onto the VPN just fine. I can then map to network drives on my SME server as well as my windows. I can also upload files just fine. But I can’t download files. As far as I can tell the permissions are set up ok. The windows xp computer locks up when I try to download a file or open one on a drive share. Here is the Samba log file.

[2003/07/18 19:41:00, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket(523)
write_socket: Error writing 188 bytes to socket 12: ERRNO = Broken pipe
[2003/07/18 19:41:00, 0] lib/util_sock.c:send_smb(703)
Error writing 188 bytes to client. -1. (Broken pipe)
[2003/07/18 19:53:36, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket_data(499)
write_socket_data: write failure. Error = Broken pipe
[2003/07/18 19:53:36, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket(523)
write_socket: Error writing 21567 bytes to socket 5: ERRNO = Broken pipe
[2003/07/18 19:53:36, 0] lib/util_sock.c:send_smb(703)
Error writing 21567 bytes to client. -1. (Broken pipe)

Do any of you have any ideas? Have any of you bin able to get it working without problems or is this an error not yet fixes in SME6.0b2

Thanks

I have had similar problems using XP and 6b2.  It will  start off with the VPN working ok and then I will get issues with it not  connecting anymore. It will say verifying user name and password and than eventually time out. If I log into another VPN server first and then log into the 6b2 it works but as soon as I disconnect from the other VPN server the connection is terminated. A combination of rebooting the SME and changing the VPN settings seems to get it back working for a while I think. I haven't been able to make certain that it isn't something I do at the XP end that makes the difference. I do know however that the problem doesn't happen for me in either ME or 98. This issue is very intermittent as I tried yesterday to connect but was not able to and yet I have just tried and got straight in. I have raised a bug report with Mitel although I have not received any conformation of this yet

Any success with this ?

I'm having a similiar issue with one of my clients on 5.5u6
VPN mostly works, but ocasionally I cannot get through
for hours at a time. I get to 'verifying username and password'
and then it drops out with after a time with error 619
