dhcp ip address leases

have set up an e-smith server and gateway.  it replaced a nt server which provided dhcp so the replacement has been set to allocate ip addresses.

(there is an nt file server on the network too)

have used 5 machines.  4 machines log onto the nt network ok and can use internet through e-smith machine.  1 machine can't log onto the network (it could before) but  can access the web.

winipcfg in win 98 on machine that can't log in to nt network any more, showed the ip address that's been allocated.  the time it was allocated is exactly the same as the time it expires!!

do i have a problem with just that machine or is it more that that machine is the first to show a problem that's going to affect the entire network?

TIA
