Problems...... should be simple.

I forgot to release my IP address when I changed NIC cards in my file server which is in the network.  Now, when I try to access   "  fs-files  "   it tries to access   192.168.20.70   instead of the new IP address, which is   192.168.20.97.... what do I do to correct this issue?

Thanks!

Your question is ambiguous, to say the least!

Why not replace the original network card?

Easy.... the original is an integrated network card, and the new one is a gigabit one.  :)

Assign the ip manually or reserve it in your DHCP scope.

why don't you disable the internal NIC in the BIOS?
and all your problems are solved...

This issue has been mysteriously resolved.... but here is the addition to my problem posted in a different thread:

Thanks for your help everyone, how if I could just get this problem resolved, I would be set!  :)

It wasn't mistery if you use switch (cheap one) on the network. It keeps ARP in its cache for some time. Now ARP cache expired (or reseted) and new MAC address assosiated with your IP address.

Actually, it was a cisco switch,  not a cheap one.  ;)
