Not quite sure what you mean. An MSN is for incoming calls not outgoing, your SME box will make an outgoing call to your ISP to access the internet.
What hardware are you using between the computer and ISDN line? Was this recognised by SME during the text based installation screens? You should also have been given a screen to enter your ISPs phone number.
There is an issue with SME 5.6u4 and at least hisax driver based ISDN cards (this driver covers many of the common ISDN cards). Check out the bugs page for a work around, it can be solved by installing a file from SME 6.0b3. Not sure if this has been detailed on the relevant bugs entry or by myself in the forums. Try a search...
Cheers
Dave.

Hallo Dave,
I know that MSN is for incoming calls.
The ISDN Card is winbond 6692 and it is recongnised by SME during the text based installation Screens. But what I meen is .
If you select dialup access by SME 5.1.2 successive screens will ask you for the following information:
select modem/ISDN port
ISDN Card detected
Multiple Subscriber Nummber (MSN)
Select ISP MSN (access number)
I get this number from my ISP for my ISDN modem without this number i get not request from internet.

It's not just for incoming calls.
Any other time I've set up ISDN I've put in my own telephone number. In the case of ISDN (highway) in the UK where we have two Analogue lines and one digital line it's the digital number you use.
I did use e-smith with ISDN some time ago but not now.
Hope this helps

NTB:
The only time I can think of an MSN being related to an outgoing call is when it supplied to be used as a calling party number.
Hamid:
I have a feeling that english is not your first language and something is getting lost in the translation. I am sorry that I only speak english and cannot help in a language easier for you to understand. But we shall do our best to help, despite the language problems.
1) Which version of SME are you actually using? Your first message mentions 5.6 but your last message 5.1.2.
2) > Multiple Subscriber Nummber (MSN)
I'd leave this blank or enter your own number or the number that your ISP expects you to call from. Some ISPs use the calling party number as basic authentification.
3) > Select ISP MSN (access number)
Enter the number that you need to dial for your ISP over ISDN. This may not be the same as the number used by an ordinary modem.
4) See the bug report about ISDN failing to dial in v5.6u4. This could well affect other ISDN cards that require options to be set in modules.conf.
Try copying /etc/modules.conf to /etc/modules.conf.saved then expanding the modules.conf templates again with the command "/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/modules.conf". Then compare the new modules.conf with the saved one. You may find a new line similar to
"options hisax type=18 protocol=2" if you do reboot your server and see if it now dials your ISP.
Let us know how you get on, there are more things to look at.
Cheers
Dave.

Hi Dave:
You are right english is not my first language and I am sorry that my english is not so good. I am writing you from germany.
I am using actually sme 5.1.2 and I installed sme 5.6 as test server because I will to upgrade 5.1.2 to the current release 5.6 so I am missing the screen to add the MSN number by SME 5.6.
Thak you for your comprehension.

You are doing a million times better in English than I could in German, no need to apologise.

You don't need to provide any MSN information. Just put the number to call your ISP into the "Select access phone number" page.
MSNs are really only for incoming calls. If your ISP does call back authorisation to the number you send then I have not had to use that method and I'm not sure that SME supports it directly. I'm sure that SME can do it though.
Cheers
Dave.

Hallo Hamid,
lets switch to german.
Am besten (und güstigsten) ist es gleich auf DSL(Flat) zu wechseln, alle Versionen kommen damit sehr gut zurecht. Man benötigt nur ein DSL-Modem, also keinen teuren Router oder so. (z.B. Teledat 300 LAN).
