Anything else integrate easily like RAV does?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear RAV User,

We would like to let you know that, due to the acquisition of RAV's IPR
(Intellectual Property Rights) by Microsoft, GeCAD Software is currently
engaged in a strategic reorganization of its operations, which includes
scaling down and discontinuation of its anti-virus related business.

RAV support will continue as usually, (Virus Signatures, Outbreak alerts
and advisories, Triggered Updates, Statistics Site Announcements and
Technical Support) until the service expiration of present customers.

I have installed ClamAV and it works fine for me. It an open source platform but it seems that its kept updated.

See sme.swerts-knudsen.dk for a howto install on SME 5.6u4

Try this link -- http://www.pagefault.org/howtoamavis_clam.shtml
I just installed it on my 5.5 server and it seems to work great.

A few words of caution though:

You should download every file in advance, and know exactly where you
put them, I used Midnight Commander and putty to organize them.

Then follow the instructions to the letter, which means print out the
instructions in advance and check off each step as you complete it,
and make notes as you go, so you can have something to go by, if by
some chance something goes wrong.

Remember to run the commands from the location of the source file(s).

If you get an error message, slow down and think carefully what it is telling
you, I had to install the archive utilities before installing the amavis portion.

You'll need to keep the steps separate in the configuration of the amavis portion,
, I underlined each line where it said " Change the" and that helped keep them
straight.

This has worked so far, and I am running several other contribs as well, no breaks.

One and only one thing so far has me puzzled, and that is the step to check
that clamd is running, "ps -efa | grep clamd" returned the three lines shown,
as well as a fourth line, which I presume is the user, he stated should be qmailq.

Is that what it is supposed to be? If it is, mine isn't.

FWIW --- a self-proclaimed newbie.

Try www.myezserver.com.  Darrell has an SME package for BitDefender that integrates very easily with SME.  It's inexpensive too.
