Topic: snort-mysql start error

I have installed snort and else as per the How To
http://marari.net/downloads/snort/acid-howto.htm
But every time I try and start theis service I get this error.
On boot it fails and none of the logs are being made?

[root@server etc]# snort-mysql start
Initializing Output Plugins!
Log directory = /var/log/snort

Initializing Network Interface eth0
ERROR: OpenPcap() FSM compilation failed:
        parse error
PCAP command: start
Fatal Error, Quitting..

I thought it was not finding the snort conf but I symlinked it to /etc and no difference.

any thoughts?
