Apache PWAUTH with i-bay's
« on: October 26, 2003, 08:54:43 PM »
Hello -
I'm having problems authenticating myself (or anyone for that matter) on a web-shared I-bay.  When prompted for a username/password I enter my user account on the SME Server but it is declined and the httpd-error log says:

reason: AuthExtern pwauth [/usr/lib/apache/pwauth]: Failed (1) for user myusername

Do I need to create Apache accounts?  If so, how do I do this?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

The username for the i-bay should be the name of the i-bay and the password should be the password you set for the i-bay in the server-manager.

For example, with an i-bay named stafftools with a password abc123   you type 'stafftools' for the username and 'abc123' for the password.
