Topic: SMC Ether EZ (8416T) NIC kernel module

I have that kind of a NIC. Witch driver should i choose ( or give) to this card (its ISA). I got my ne2000 card ( also ISA) working on my other E-Smith box.
Does anyone use that kind of a network adapter? or know how to get that kard working. Should I put that the kernel module is smc ? or smc Ether EZ ? or something else.

I have grown to like e-smith. It works just fine for me on the other box.

Oh. Just one quick question. Does e-smith box give internet access to another e-smith box?

I've the same card in my box along with an ne2000 compatible.  Use the smc-ultra module.

I use the Ether EZ under Linux at home (Slackware, not e-smith, but it's probably the same deal). I think that I am using the driver for the SMC Ultra, so you might want to try that. I guess if there is no module for the SMC Ultra you might have to compile one or maybe download one. Hope this helps.

Thanks. After i posted this mesege to this phorum i got the idea to look for the driver from redhat hardware howto-s page because e-smith is built on redhat kernel. I found the correct kernel module info from there (before i got your e-mails) ant the card now works just fine.
