portopening doesnt do the trick
« on: November 12, 2003, 11:08:34 AM »
I recently upgraded my e-smith 5.5 server to the latest 6.0 version, only to find that my distributed.net proxy wich listens on ports 2064 and 3064 cant communicate with the outside.
The only way to get that working (i found yet) is to make the whol internet a local network, wich is not a really secure way to do that.

I tried openin the ports through the server-manager, that doesnt help.
I know the service is listening on both networks, as it is configured that way.
I am sure it has the right permissions.

I searched the forums, but couldn't really find anything like my problem.
So my question is, does anybody know what I am doing wrong or has somekind of hint for me where to look at to get this working?

I cant find any for entries for denylog.
In the programs own log files there isnt any indication of some sort of failed connection.
I how ever did find out that the program uses very high number ports (64k ranges and such) to handel multiple connections or something like that.
could this be one of the trouble causers?
