Topic: Suddenly no outside mail is received

Hi,

SME 5.6 U2 using the internal mail function with my domain.  I can send email but cannot receive from outside my LAN.  This began on Sunday last and I can think of nothing I did which would have affected it.  The IP of my domain changed in the interim, which I have updated.  I can think of no other relevant config I have atered which would cause this.  BTW, can someone please tell me if you can access my domain from where you are:  www.acenet-tech.org

I have attempted numerous tests (if I get this functioning I will have a boatload of mesages:) to no avail and the mesages (at least the ones I have searched through) show no indication of a problem.  Any idea where next to look?

I did (now that you mention it) try to hit you're site earlier in the day following some link to it for some contrib (I was playing on a test box again) and could not reach it.  I got to it just fine just now though.

when i ping your mail server i get this address 67.166.98.107 and when i ping your web server i get the same address so mail is being routed to you. What do your logs say

Indeed... it is working again.  I removed the newest (the last config changes I had made prior to this issue) custom-templates, expanded and it now works.  I will re-apply one by one just to make sure it wasn't just the delay in flushing through my ip change over the internet.

Yes. Ask your ISP if they are blocking port 25. Many do, and they don't give advance warning to their customers.

Use an external box and try to telnet to your external interface on port 25, just to confirm by yourself.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the response.  Interestingly I contacted my ISP about the port and like others have noted here they assured me that the port would not be blocked.  Yet, in the hours since i am receiving 'real-time' messages again...
