I have been trying to upgrade the Darrel May myPHPNuke rpm installation from 1.8.8-1 to 1.8.8-8

Whenever and whatever I seem to do I get 'acess denied' whenever I then try go back too the site.

Strangely though, I can still run the /mpn/install.php file, but nothing else.

Presumably some permissions have got trashed, but I have checked these and set them to be chmod 750 and chown www:www as per Darrels originals with a couple of minor variations as per the upgrade.txt file, but nothing of any obvious signifance.

Anyone got any thoughts on this one or any pointers where too look ?

Hi,

Shortly after I posted I had a read at the myphpnuke home (should have done it first) and there are some comments there about a hack to  mainfile.php as there appears to be many who have had the same problem.

I changed the code, but now get FATAL ERROR: Database Load Failure

I will have another look and see what gives - I guess that I have screwed/overwrote one of the config files - I did backup config.php as per instructions, but I guess that there is another lurking there that I should have nailed as well.

Best regards,

John

Hello

the access denied is a myphpnuke error and is to be fixed in the new release soon

there are some work-arounds posted on the myphpnuke site however
