Topic: LILO stopping at LI

Hi

After a crash last night my SME6 won't boot any more. It simply stops loading at LI.

I run Knoppix to do a fsck on hda1 and hda3 - no problem there. I can access all my files on these two partitions as well as those on hdd1 (backup disk).

I tried reinstalling lilo: chrooted to hda3, mounted hda1 to /boot, ran lilo. Finished fine, but the machine is still not booting .

What else could I do?!?

Thanks for the link.

After removing the second drive I successfully reinstalled lilo with Knoppix' help. Don't know why it did not work at first with the second drive installed.

jumper settings on your hd... there is the problem (like ds on the wrong ide-disk  jumper)
