Support in console for more than one IP per NIC
« on: December 16, 2000, 10:23:37 PM »
Hi

I have a internet setup at home that requires me to put two
ip addresses on the NIC in the server (don't wont to buy an
additional NIC if it is not a problem without). The kernel
with e-smith 4 does support it, but when I configure the
interfaces eth0 and eth0:1 it is reset when I boot up.

It would be a nice feature to be able to enter which interfaces
you would want to use, instead of just eth0 and eth1

Janus,

I would assume the reason for eSmith removing your alias when you reboot is that eSmith rebuilds the config files from the templates upon reboot.

Instead of editing the actual config files, try editing the template files.

Have a look on the eSmith developer website that we are on now regarding how to change those files.
