I think this requires minor tweaks on your part. I took the e-smith 4.1.1 drive I had installed on a Pentium 200. Then I moved it to a 486 running at 33mz and, though it took a while, the kernel recognized that it was a 486.
It works fine! RH 7 is i386 compatible on up to i786 or something like that.
Also, as long as you use i386 compatible rpms you can use a lot of stuff found on rpmfind.net as well. I have found that some won't install. But, if they install they have all worked for me. YMMV.
There is an issue with ISA NIC cards you have to work through but it has been documented on one of these forums. I haven't tested this but I believe the drivers for ISA NIC cards are availble from the install console.
