Port forwarding panel in e-smith-manager

Seems a lot of phorum posts are asking how to forward ports in e-smith to internal IP addresses.  It would be great if one of the e-smith or devinfo wizards would create an e-smith-manager panel add-in to accomplish this.

Yep, we'd like that too :-)

Actually, many of the requests are for forwarding to an internal web server, which would be done more cleanly with a "ProxyPass" configuration setting for Apache. This would be more secure and more flexible than port forwarding to an internal web server. It would be similar to the DelegateMailServer setting for forwarding email to an internal server.

We are thinking about it, and would naturally welcome contributions.

Actually I would still have two requests then.  I agree ProxyPass is the way to go for web server redirection.  An e-smith-manager panel for this would be great as well :-)

I'll still request a port forward panel in addition to a ProxyPass panel.  I'm talking with clients in need of getting to various internal server:port combinations that are not web server based.

AFAIK e-smith is looking at including a panel for ipchains / port blocking , couldn't this feature be incorporated within that panel
