Over in the experienced forum there is a thread talking about adding a 3rd subnet to e-smith.  Along with the regular Internet and local ethernet, I would like to be able to add a PCI wireless (I have an orinoco) to the e-smith box and access the Internet as well as the e-smith box.  For security reasons that should seem obvious, it would be nice if there was adequate firewalling between the wireless and ethernet subnets.

Most wireless nic's will not auto detect under e-smith or linux unlike most wired pci nic's which do auto detect. See my notes on getting a wireless nic running under e-smith http://home.iprimus.com.au/michaelmaxwell/esmith.html
