I think it would be real bennificial to be able to disable any services you didn't want to run. IE esmith as a ftp/file share only with no web servering or mail, etc etc. And a way to assign particular services to certain I bays. And a way for a user to log direct into the ibay with no access above that.

how about adding some kind of basic database functions?  maybe mysql, etc.

There is a contributed rpm to control running services available from Darrell May @
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/service-control-0.0.1/

sme server comes with MySQL installed. You can manage the database from a browser via
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/phpmyadmin-2.2.3/

Not sure what you mean by "And a way for a user to log direct into the ibay with no access above that". Standard ftp/http access is only within that ibay.

As far as assigning services within an ibay, you can stop access via http or ftp via the server manager panel (or restrict to internal users only - or via password).
