Topic: Permanent dial-up ?

Can  I configure my E-smith to maintain a premanent connection to my ISP using my 56K modem / phoneline ? i.e. The e-smith initiates the dial and does not disconnect until I say so ? (I have spare phone lines so I can dedicate one to stay continuously connected to my ISP as I have untimed local calls.)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
