Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/esmith/DB/db/Record.pm line 132.

What could be the origine of this error ?

Thats nice.

Why are you posting this to the "Wishlist"?

Have you sent a note to the appropriate SME address? The one where they're tracking & responding to 6.0beta issues?

Probably because on the e-smith.org home page, this forum is listed as "Possible development projects". It takes quite a bit of imagination to interpret that as "wish list", especially if English is not your first language.

I hope you are not suggesting, Scott, that 6.0 beta is not an actual development project.

Far from it. In fact, a careful reading of my post will reveal that I was making no comment about the 6.0 beta at all. Beta releases are definitely development projects. I was commenting on the peculiar naming of the wish list on the home page and its probable effect.

It seems reasonable that someone might think this forum, with its unusual title on the home page, is the place to chat about a beta. Especially since quite a few people will never read the preamble to the forum page itself, which talks about it being a wish list, and jump straight to the text box and start typing. That was my point.

I've often wondered why the wish list, as it is called everywhere else on the site, is referred to as possible development projects on the home page. The home page used to call this forum the wish list. I wonder why the change? It makes this forum sound like a developer's forum. As you know there is no such forum, but a development mailing list, albeit one where it is frowned upon to talk about beta release issues. For that, there is an email address.

So, my wish, to stay on topic for the forum, is for the wish list to be so (re)named on the home page ;-)

Yeah, or they could just call it:
A wish list of possible development projects.
Either way, it would be more accurate
and people who come to this forum
won't end up feeling stupid that they
posted to the wrong forum.
So I second your wish.
