I wish that the e-smith installation procedure would be completed after a self contained exam. This exam would require certain answers be typed into text boxes to ensure that the installee had read through those parts of the instruction manual. These questions would be similar to: How do I access the command line? or How do I install an .rpm?, How do I manually update the server? What is the minium hardware to suport blah, blah etc.
Sufficient of these questions should be easily generated by randomly searching the faq or the first few pages of the instruction manual.
Failing to answer all of these questions correctly should make the installation halt, flash up the text of the manual which covers the section, and require input of the correct answer.
The default installation should include something to force the these questions to come up randomly as part of any admin or root log in procedure to the server. It would serve to make people actually have a printed manual, or machine accessable manual instantly available.
This install procedure should be protected by the DMCA against reverse engineering to prevent scripting it or removing it.
People who can be certified competent by Mitel can be issued a token to bypass these procedures.
And I want the new version to make good coffee....
