Dear Jon

That's good to hear, patterm matching seemed to me to be too good a "thing" to not tell the world about. I was fortunate to have my hand held by Gordon Rowell who put it all together for sme server.
I extend my thanks to him and Charlie Brady.

Man, thank you so much, this has just helped me fix all the virus' that's been bouncing around the network at the moment.

I do have one problem though.

I have a person that sends and attachment, which is fine, and it blocks it, but the email address it says it came from is mine......as in the users email address?

How's that?
It would be good to have the email say who it's from usually, but it's just blocked the attachment.

Regards,
James

That's right.  Procmail is actually creating a new message and sending it to you.  So, the warning message is actually being created by your account.

I ended up installing the Messagewall contrib, and have been having great success with it.  It actually blocks attachments, checks RBL lists, and will scan for virii at the SMTP level.  So, if it scans the messages before the mail server has actually accepted the message.

I can provide more info, if needed.

Thanks,

The Messagewall Contrib that is located under the Emails Contribs?

There is a warning note saying it sometimes sends hundreds of emails a time, and not to use it until it's fixed.

Do you know if that's still the case?

I have just disabled sending notices to users for the time being with the badattachment howto.

I'll keep using it for the next few months until I have a big enough change to upgrade and improve the server again.

So just to check it was this contrib?

Sounds great, and they mentioned they are working on a Server-Manager panel, any idea when this might be happening?

Yeah, I've seen that too.  However, I've been running 2000 accounts on my server (for 5 months) and haven't yet experienced this issue.

Yes, that is the original.  I made a few updates and re-packaged the rpm when I set up my server.  My changes are posted here:

Not sure about the server-manager panel.  Once I got my settings right, I really don't mess with the config much.  But, it shouldn't be too difficult to build... if someone had the time to build it.   :-)
