I am installing an SME 6 server(Intel2.6HT, 4x160gb IDE, 512MBRAM) for a 17 User Mac network. The server will be used primarily as a storage area, (and gateway) with the average filesize being around 650Mb. I want to set up an additional network card for the extra trafic and put half of the network on this subnet. I would prefere DHCP on the additional interface.
1) is this possible, if so how?
2) Is it neccessary ?
(most of the users will transfer files to the server at around the same time (shift change) and the other half is on another switch anyways)
Any help, directions will be appreciated.
