I have got an old machine with 30GB (1 HDD) , AMD 2000+ and 256RAM.
Will this do?

Yes, it will do perfectly for home and midsize webserver.

Geez, I just upgraded my box from a P200 w/ 96 MB RAM to a PII 400 w/ 128 MB RAM and I think it works great. Now, I just use it for a home firewall and not much of a server, but it does everything I ask of it without much delay.

Right now i am recompiling the Kernel on a celeron 300 with 256 meg of ram and everything (mail fileserving etc)is running fine.
Yours will perform nicely.
