I was wondering if anyone using Arkeia on their SME
had any luck with over writing / re-cycling tapes from the CLI (arkc)
I have 7 tapes (Mon-Sun) and want that Arkeia re-uses them (ie just plainly overwrites the previous weeks backup)
I am using the Java GUI from an XP Wintop and that
does a manual (re-cycle, tape naming etc) backup perfectly.
In the Arkei faq it mentions that you must use arkc
CLI to get the tape name and re-cycle / name it.
When I try and run arkc I get a message saying cannot
connect to server (arkeiad) and this is at the actual SME console. I can see arkeiad running and as I say manual backup works fine - I just want an automated nightly solution and want to be able to let the user see the logs (the Java GUI does that nicely) without letting them play with the SME User manager.
Any advice greatly appreciated !
