I have server running v.5.1 and have setup VPN access. I am able to connect to server but how do I access the server-manager console? Also how can I setup my other servers (NT) sitting behind the Server-Gateway so I can see and access. Please Help. Thanks

You want to access the web-manager panel? or the console?

When you log in by vpn go to the url: https://yourserver/server-manager or
https://serverip/server-manager

if you'd like to access server console, the easiest way would be to use putty. You must enable remote access using SSH, or telnet ( ssh recommended)

YOu want to access your nt servers? in what means? if you log in via vpn you log in to the local network and should be able to brows using network neighborhood. Unless you have disabled samba or use another samba server.

hope this helps

When I connect via VPN and type into browser
https://myserver/server-manager I get the message this page cannot be displayed. Also after making VPN connection I cannot see any shared folders from SME server or the other servers sitting behind this Server-Gateway.

On the lan side can you browse the network? ( whith the computer attached physically to the lan).

If you have a static ip on remote side you can add the ip to your list of remote access web panel. You can access it from lan or using putty logging in as admin and using server-manager from there.

you can try using http://yourserverip/server-manager maybe it will work?

Giving your computer the same workgroup name simplifies shared files access

When I log in to SME server and type in https://myserver/server-manager I get the error you are not authorized to view this page. I have tried logging in as admin and still get the same message. I tried http://myserver/server-manager with same result. I can only make remote vpn connection with XP. I am unable to make connection with windows98. I get error 678. I have updated win98 DUN1.4 and still no luck. When I connect via xp it says I have established connection to my server yet I cannot see any machines or servers. Help Please.

I'm also a bit confused about VPN

I tried to enable vpn on my 5.5 and 6.0 boxes.

I can access the 5.5 machine from a Win98 ( upgraded ) DUN, but the 6.0 seems to timeout.

Is something else needed on 6.0 ? I've rebooted but still it times out!
