I am trying to install squidguard as per the install instructions from the link on this site.
It all seems to install correctly.
The blacklist gets downloaded sucessfully
Nothing gets filtered
The new link "content filter" appears in the web browser console but the page is not avaiable when the link is activated.
I've tried versions 3.1 & 3.2 with no luck.
I'm running sme ver 5.6
Has anyone installed squidguard and got it working successfully, if so how

Hi Emelio,
I have had squidguard running OK since last March. After several attempts I was pointed to this howto: http://www.tech-geeks.org/servers/sme/squidGuard/squidguard3.2-README.txt
by Cyrus Bharda, thanks again Cyrus. Good Luck

when  i tried to access content filtering the following appeared "The requested URL /squidguard was not found on this server."
I am at a loss
will try to uninstall and reinstall

Do you access server manager using a proxy?

i access using both proxy and not
But i have had some success and got squidguard loaded
Now i see content filtering and it does link to the correct screen
Only problem is i thought i dowloaded the blacklists but nothing shows in the view function
i have added a untrusted url and it does appear after i submit the data but doesn't seem to block that site
I got to be close to getting this fixed

Yes, that seems correct. I saw in some logfile (don't know exactly where - squidguard.log?) something like "downloaded squidguard blacklistst ... expanding list ... is empty ... list removed from memory" or something like that. But it is blocking offending content, at least for me.

try to block the domain as well, not only the url.
