libstdc++ upgrade?

I'm trying to install DarwinStreamingServer on SME 5.6 and it won't run.  Though Apple says the binary is for RedHat 8/9, I thought I'd give it a try.  Looks like it's installed but it won't fire up for lack of libstdc++.so.5.  The version installed on SME 5.6 appears to be libstdc++-2.96-112 and I'm pretty much lost.  I've tried installing an rpm of so.5 but it appears to have other dependencies too numerous to mention.  I've tried installing the libstdc rpms from RedHat 7.3/RPMS and I get, "libstdc++-2.96-110 cannot be installed, as libstdc++-2.96-112 is already installed and is newer."  What are my options?  I'd really like to get this server running on this "RH 7.3" distro.
