Topic: Mitel SME 6.0 to contribs.org SME 6.0 new look

I installed Mitel sme 6.0 and it works good. I like the screenshots of contribs.org SME 6.01 but i can not get my server manager to look like it.

I installed the following rpms:

e-smith-base 4.14.1-14
e-smith-formmagick 1.2.2-02
e-smith-hosts 1.12.0-02
e-smith-ldap 4.10.0-03
e-smith-lib 1.14.0-09
e-smith-lilo 1.12.0-04
e-smith-manager 1.10.0-02
e-smith-release 6.0.0.1-01
e-smith-support 1.4.4-03

Is there anything else that i need to install or update?

Hi,

I grabbed these files from http://www.ibiblio.org/contribs/releases/development/ and typed rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --nopeds *.rpm

followed by /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade and finally /sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

Logged back into Webinterface and had the new look...Great work from guys at contribs

Forgot the post-upgrade line  
but the line "rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --nopeds *.rpm "
did not work for me i used instead
"rpm -Uvh --replacefiles  *.rpm" and worked fine.

--nopeds
is just a typo
should be --nodeps
for no_checking_dependencies

[sudemo]

If not using the anaconda files, --nopeds is not necessary.

One more thing that you might want to try is:

#lilo -v

That will give you a new startup splash screen if all of the rpms have been installed.

why this infos comming step by step ?
Is it not better to add a info file to the download directory with a description of all the new things.

I know it is just for testing but also there you need to know what to test. right ?

Hey guys.

I'm trying to update my 6.0 to the "new look and feel", but seem to be missing something.

I've installed 6.0, then went to http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/smeserver/releases/development/RPMS/
and downloaded all the rpms there.

Next I did rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --nodeps *.rpm*
followed by /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
followed by /sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot.

I've also tried --replacepkgs
Also tried rpm -Uvh *.rpm followed by the above.

The server-manager shows the same Mitel pages and version 6.0

Any assistance is appreciated.

well, go figure.
I just used only the e-smith* files listed further up in the thread, and everything works like you'd expect now.

I don't understand why, though.
