The web server restarted ok, but made no difference, still only https:// access. I was testing e-smith in my LAN, all pcs were on the same IP range, ftp even worked to the e-smith box.
Moved the E-smith box onto the DMZ of my firewall (IPCop)and changed the IP address accordingly and could access it fine on port 80 through the firewall, user web sites worked this way too as did FTP. Still don't know why it did not work before it was on a DMZ.
At least its working they way I finally wanted it to, thought testing would be easier on the local network, I was hoping to take the box to class to allow students in a web design course to upload to and test their sites and there won't be the same firewall setup there.
