Cannot reach remote logonserver at port 5443
« on: March 18, 2004, 11:05:22 PM »
Hi

I am trying to connect to my companys network from home (win98 behind SME server/gateway) via https and I get this error:

"The following error was encountered:

Access Denied.
Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect."

the logonservice apparently uses port 5443, which is apparently blocked on my server, preventing me from accessing the remote service from inside my LAN.

When I try from the server with lynx, it connectes allright, and I am asked for a username and password.

Of course, Lynx is not suited for this, since I am connecting to a Citrix environment via NFuse.

So my question is:

How do I get through to the logonserver?

The helpdesk in my company didn't know the answer. Of course, they are not linux-people.

Portforwarding works the other way round, I guess, preventing outsiders from connecting my server/gateway.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards
