I use 2 SME 5.6 boxes to filter email for spam and viruses before passing it to an exchange server. Recently, a gov. agency made some changes with their ISPs. Since that time, their emails are arriving at my backup MX server. This problem is most likely an email issue as they can route/ping/trace to my gateway router. They can not telnet 25 to my primary mail server, but could without problems before the ISP change.
I am receiving email without problems other than from this agency.
www.checkdns.net and other DNS web tools verify my setup is good. It has been running fine for over a year now.
My question...can I set qmail on the backup MX server to accept messages, yet send an automated reply or bounce notices for emails from this agency? I want them to figure out the problem so they use my primary MX server. Since their email is being delivered, they aren't considering this an issue.
