I've upgraded a 5.6 server to the new release, but the Realtek 8139 on-board NIC is not found. It worked fine in 5.5 and 5.6, until today's upgrade. A search here revealed a couple of similar problems, but no solutions. Is anyone else having problems?
Details:
Abit motherboard, P4-1.5, and 1-2 year old hardware throughout.
lspci shows the NIC correctly.
When I run the setup utility, no cards are detected, even when I add known good (and linux compatible) 3com, realtek or linksys models. In each case, the cards are listed correctly by lspci.
Anybody have suggestions? It seems quite odd that an upgrade of a working install would fail to utilize the hardware that was already running.
