I am setting an ISP for up to 50,000 users and I have chosen to use Qmail as an ISP mail solution. Since qmail is difficult to configure, it was recommended to me to use SME server to set up Qmail and implement a simple to use web interface.

Can SME do this job for me or am I completely offpoint here?

Hi,

Well SME Server is a 'out of the box solution' for Small to Medium Enterprises and since you intend to 'become' an ISP for 50K+ users I *think* you may be better of using something else.

_maybe_ there are members of the community around that can help you with your task directly and specifically.

Check out Suse Open Exchange Server.
You don't have to buy additional licenses for groupware and $1450 will give you unlimited e-mail accounts. Virtual domains etc supported nicely and web interface is easy to configure. They claim to support 5k-15k accounts per box, so you may need 3-4 servers.
